Nursing Rehab Assistant - Band 2

£26,696 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata

Full & Part time hours considered

37.5 hours per week (including weekend shifts as per rota)

Are you a proactive and flexible caring person who wishes to join our Rehabilitation Bed Based Unit?


Bromley Rehabilitation is the name of the Bromley Intermediate Care service and stands for recuperative and goal-focused assessment and intermediate care service.

It includes the Rehabilitation bedded unit and home pathways.


The Rehabilitation Unit provides short term intermediate care rehabilitation to regain and improve the independence of people who might otherwise face unnecessarily prolonged hospital stays or inappropriate admission to hospital or residential care.

The unit has both a Step Down and a Step Up function with patients being admitted from hospital and on where required, directly from the community.

The care across both pathways is person-centred, focused on rehabilitation and delivered by a multi
- disciplinary team. The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary Bromley Rehabilitation team who work across both the beds and the home pathways where required.

  • Provide support to health care professionals within the multidisciplinary team by performing functions under the guidance of the registered nurse, therapist or band 3 Nursing Rehabilitation Assistant
  • To assist in the provision of rehabilitation
  • Deliver appropriate patient care, as indicated by the qualified staff in accordance with the patient's care plan and to the required standard
  • To adhere to Bromley Healthcare's policies, procedures and standards at all times, including Health & Safety guideline

  • Supervise/assist patients with dressing and mobilising following instructions by members of the multidisciplinary tea
  • Deliver appropriate patient care, as indicated by the qualified staff in accordance with the patient's care plan and to the required standard
  • Supervise patients with eating and drinking.
  • Move and handle patients using appropriate techniques after training.
  • Organise own workload, in accordance with the delegated task

  • Remain aware of your own limitations at all times
  • Report all adverse signs, and symptoms to the Registered Nurse/therapy staff responsible for the patient
