An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated multi-tasked patient access officer to join our Patient Scheduling working across both Southend and Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford.
The post holder will provide robust admin support to the Patient Scheduling Team that cover Gynae, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, UGI, LGI, Breast, Vascular, General Medicine, ENT, MaxFax, Head and Neck and Plastics.
Previous experience of working in a fast paced 'In patient/Patient Access' waiting list environment would be advantageous, however, full training will be provided.
Excellent organisational skills, a confident telephone manner, good IT skills, and understanding of Service Change/development with previous experience of working in the NHS or within healthcare.
To provide a comprehensive professional and efficient patient monitoring and waiting list service within prescribed timescales.
To monitor patients admitted pathway from referral to treatment for all specialties in accordance with the Trust's Patient Access Policy and the NHS Constitution.
To ensure efficient use of theatres.
Ensure all patients details are entered and updated accurately on to Lorenzo system and Theatreman.
Responsible for effective communication with Consultants and clinical teams, patients, relatives, General Practitioners.
