SCADA, DCS, UI/UX Senior Engineer (Unified Operations Centre)
The result is a more efficient, productive, and safer customer process and monitoring systems.

The UOC design process is similar to software and website design; As users, we know software interfaces and websites need to be designed around specific user types and use cases, but also employing globally standard conventions, and being consistent, so that the result is intuitive.

Our UOCs are using industrial and commercial systems as inputs.

So we also need to employ good industrial best practices, and have a good appreciation of the source systems, as well as the customer's industries, and their processes.

To work within the UK Process Automation (PA) Delivery Engineering Team reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, supporting projects across UK&I and overseas.

The role is primarily intended support UOC projects, but may also need to support SCADA, DCS and Safety system projects as necessary.

Working individually or as part of a team, contribute to the successful delivery of engineering solutions to Time, Cost and Quality to ensure the successful execution of projects to the Customers satisfaction.

They will work within our Delivery department based ideally at Our Coventry office. Consideration for some remote working or working out of our Worthing or Warrington offices may be considered. A full UK driving licence will be required.

They would usually have a Degree level Qualification in a relevant STEM subject and would normally have several year's experience in a similar field.

The ideal candidate will have a sound engineering background and/or experience working in the Water, Renewables, Oil, Gas, Chemical, Power Generation or Food & Beverage market sectors.

Through undertaking of the role, the Senior Engineer will be expected to additionally demonstrate the following:
Communicate well in written & spoken English, with excellent documentation skills.
Understanding of User Interface design and User Experience design, and their difference UI/UX
Ability to lead knowledge capture workshops with end users to capture the end user's knowledge and experience. Additionally, analyse, compile and review with the end user, documentation for project design.
Sound understanding of User Interface design & User Experience design.
Knowledge and experience of project execution methods, Agile, Waterfall, etc.

Proven experience in at least four of the following areas (two should be to expert level): User Interface design, User Experience design, Style Guide authoring, AVEVA System Platform, AVEVA / OSI PI System and PI Vision, SCADA, telemetry, computer networking, software engineering, digital communications, industrial control systems including Safety Systems and DCS, systems testing and utilisation of Cloud technology.
