    Research Scientist - Cell Biologist

    Harness Therapeutics is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and talented researcher to join our expanding laboratory team at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, one of the UK's leading biotech hubs.

    Harness is developing therapeutics that have the ability to upregulate protein expression within a physiological range for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Huntington's Disease.

    The individual recruited into this laboratory-based position will play a crucial role in the progression of key pipeline programmes for the treatment of disease with high unmet medical need. Candidates must be highly collaborative, technically skilled, and motivated, demonstrating a proven track record in the rapid delivery and analysis of robust data sets within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

    Key Areas of Responsibility:

    Reporting to one of our experienced post-doctoral scientists, the individual will receive all appropriate training required to develop broad laboratory skills and critical thinking skills.

    You will:

    • Perform high-quality laboratory-based molecular and cellular in vitro studies.
    • Execute high-quality work, demonstrating an excellent attention to detail and appreciation of the broad Company research goals.
    • Work to clear and tight timelines, disseminating data and updates internally via excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Work in a highly collaborative manner with colleagues, within the Harness team.

    Essential Skills and Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters in the biological sciences and experience some of the following techniques:

    • Culture of cell lines
    • Delivery of RNA/DNA/small molecules to cells
    • Biochemical techniques: fluorescence/luminescence based assay techniques, western blot
    • Molecular biology techniques: qPCR, cloning

    You'll also offer the following broader skills:

    • An understanding of experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
    • Accurate and timely data recording, analysis, report writing, and lab book maintenance skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail in experimental work and laboratory management standards.
    • Team work and collaboration.
