    We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Derbyon behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

    Purpose of the Role:

    The Manufacturing Engineer will Lead the development, implementation, validation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes for aligned suppliers. Continuously improve methods to ensure they meet safety, quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time requirements.


    As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for:

    • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes and identification of improvement opportunities
    • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with all legal and customer requirements
    • Work with the wider Turbines technical communities and functional teams, quality, design and project engineering, to ensure fulfilment and realisation of the product intent
    • Support the investigation and resolution of product and supplier technical problems with the application and use of appropriate tools
    • Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes and technologies to meet or exceed current or future requirements
    • Identify, document and share best practice; capture and utilise lessons learned
    • Plan and manage aligned activities, communicating current status to relevant stakeholders
    • Robust management, compliance and delivery of the full product technical package using the supporting quality and capability processes - RRMS, FAIr, PPAP, SABRe, etc.
    • Ensure export control and intellectual property requirements are satisfied

    What we require from the Manufacturing Engineer:

    • Professionally qualified Engineer (BEng degree) or appropriate equivalent experience
    • Communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Technical experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably casting and machining of complex Turbine products
    • Good understanding of process improvement tools, preferably Green belt qualified or higher
    • Working knowledge of key Manufacturing Engineering processes and tools and preferably use and application of SABRe
    • Experience of technical working with external suppliers, including supplier selection and capability assessments, is advantageous
