    The role

    The Davies Technology Solutions Management Accountant role is key for ensuring accurate and timely management accounts are delivered to sub-divisional, divisional and group stakeholders and the group finance team. The role will support the transactional finance team with coding and accounting treatment of purchase invoices and will monitor and maintain key financial controls across the Technology sub-division. We are also going through a finance transformation process with opportunity to be involved in large new systems implementation and aligning financial processes and controls across the Technology businesses.

    Key responsibilities

    • Assisting with generation and delivery of monthly management accounts in line with monthly timetable, with particular emphasis on all P&L costs
    • Provide input to the monthly revenue recognition process as required
    • Produce monthly reconciliations of all major balance sheet accounts
    • Support of payables and receivables functions across the Technology sub-division
    • Support and input to key finance transformation processes and implementation of new group-wide finance system
    • Continuous improvement and simplification of finance processes
    • Maintenance of capex and exceptional costs reporting
    • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
    • Support the annual group audit and tax processes
    • Main contributor to the annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes in line with group timetables
    • Deputise for the Finance Manager as required

    Key skills and experience required

    • Significant experience in similar finance roles, ideally comprising project accounting and revenue recognition
    • Part Qualified Accountant or AAT Qualified desirable but not essential
    • Experience working within a strong financial controls framework
    • Data manipulation and presentation skills
    • Professional Scepticism and attention to detail
    • Experience of using one or more of Sage 50 Professional, Xero, Iris Kashflow, Quick Books and MS Dynamics 365 desirable but not essential
    • Experience of working under US GAAP accounting standards or accounting for a US subsidiary desirable but not essential
