Description

We are looking for an experienced Technician to work within our Faculty of Engineering, Computing & the Environment (ECE) at Kingston University.


You will be responsible for managing the Engineering workshops within the Roehampton Vale Campus, including organising the co-ordination and supervision of a team of technicians and overall operations.


You will provide engineering and technical expertise in support of a number of workshops, including a hands-on role in supporting practical sessions, in relation to teaching, projects, research, and commercial activities.

You enjoy working with people and will contribute to the planning, resourcing, capital programs, risk management, quality assurance and marketing of ECE activities including procurement, order placement and monitoring.


The Person:


You will need to be an experienced Technician, with good IT and planning skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic individual, ready to work with a team and contribute to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the faculty's laboratories.

You will contribute to the learning experience of students by providing guidance on the use of resources and promoting an excellent understanding of laboratory practices and relevant H&S issues.


You will be able to liaise with external organisations and suppliers and you will possess strong interpersonal, written and communication skills with excellent organisational and analytical skills too.

Further information:

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £43,187 per annum.
