    Onsite IT Support Specialist

    • Location: London, Kings Cross (Onsite)
    • Contract Length: 6 Months with extension / contract to perm likely
    • Contract Type: Inside IR35
    • Full-time contract 8 Hours per day, 5 days per week with flexible hours.
    • Pay rate: Approx. £200 - £280 per day Depending on experience
    • The pay rate might be able to be increased for the right candidate.
    • Ideal Start Date is Monday 20th May – latest start we can consider is Monday 3rd June.

    I'm currently working with a biotech company who are using AI to revolutionize drug discovery and my job is to help them find an onsite IT Support Specialist to work in their new serviced office space located next door to Google in Kings Cross, London.

    In this role you will be the companies UK based IT support representative supporting an office that will be growing from 20 to 50 people over the next 6 to 12 months.

    For this position it is essential that you are comfortable and capable working as the only point of contact for IT support in a serviced office space.

    Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure and Enterprise Applications Operations, the IT Systems support specialist will help build, maintain, and support a first-class network, systems and infrastructure to accelerate the company's mission and goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide onsite IT presence to manage hardware, accessories, software, issues and requests
    • Provide technical support and assistance to end users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues and assisting with IT-related inquiries.
    • Install, configure, and deploy endpoint devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
    • Manage IT equipment and components onsite. Help setup desk spaces with monitors, keyboards and printers.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner for all IT systems including endpoints, collaboration tools
    • Assist with system upgrades, patches, and installations to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues that require onsite support.
    • Support and conduct regular maintenance activities, including system backups, antivirus updates, and security audits, to ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
    • Document and maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and system configurations.

    Skills/Experience Required

    • Proven ability to communicate credibly and confidently when interacting with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders. Present status and proposed solutions in a logical manner with a focus on benefits and based on relevant data. Convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences (e.g. senior management, peers, internal customers)
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues:
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically to identify the root cause of problems
    • Experience in working with a variety of technical systems and applications
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain technical issues and solutions
    • Knowledge of best practices for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
    • Capacity for independent work:
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to set priorities and work effectively under pressure
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
    • Ability to self-motivate and stay focused on tasks
    • 3+ years of hands-on operations experience with Enterprise Technologies, particularly endpoint operating systems (Mac, Windows), Windows server, Linux server.
    • Familiar with networking technologies and concepts.
    • Experience with Windows, MacOS, Active Directory, Linux, Azure/O365, DNS, DHCP, and GCP.
