PAWS (People & Animal Wellbeing Services) is one of the UK's Leading authorities on Animal Assisted Learning and Animal Assisted Interventions.

We proudly support hundreds of therapeutic professionals, educational establishments and organisations to safely incorporate dogs to assist in providing essential wellbeing and mental health support.


Do you have a dog that loves being with people and is confident and happy? Well PAWS are looking for people to join our PAWS team of therapy dog practitioners who are excited about what we are trying to achieve, passionate about making a difference to the current state of the population's mental health, experienced in SEN, education and therapies.

We have self employed positions that would suit somebody already in private practice, recently graduated in counselling or looking for part time hours in multiple locations across Surrey, Berkshire and North Hampshire

Full training using our PAWS therapy dog certification provided.


Successful applicants will:

  • Have a good understanding of dogs and dog behaviour
  • Able to provide counselling/therapy/wellbeing sessions to individuals with additional needs
  • Successfully complete our Therapy Dog Certification Programme to ensure you will provide sessions to the standards of PAWS (provided by us)
  • Work alongside our super team of like minded individuals
  • Take part in ongoing training and supervision sessions
  • Be able to work independently with clients and adapt to the varying needs
  • Dog Training/handling or behaviour;
  • Neurodivergence
  • Therapy work or Counselling;
  • Social Work
  • Education
- be a qualified counsellor, therapist, educator or have significant experience working with families and young people with additional needs;

  • Have a full clean driving licence.
  • Have a dog that is suitable to work therapeutically with clients.
  • Support forcefree and positive reinforcement training
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills
  • Excellent timekeeping skills and an ability to meet targets and deadlines and work independently.
