As a Barclays Java Developer you will join us at an exciting time of growth in our team.

You will be working in a fast pace environment, to support the responsibilities of a Java Developer, which includes working with developers to ensure quality networkframeworks, mentoring junior level staff and identifying issues that affect product delivery.

This opportunity is location flexible. We will consider requests for locating the role at an alternative Barclays' key UK office from that advertised.

What will you be doing?:

You will produce SOLID code with excellent test coverage
Leading the team, providing support to colleagues reporting into you
Identifying own and others' development needs and seeking opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training
Fulfilling all mandatory training requirements, remaining current on all regulations and compliance rules and administrative functions

What we're looking for:

Good command on the Java programming language such as, Java J2EE ( EJB, JPA, Struts), Javascript, Ext-JS / Angular JS, TreeGrid, Jboss Drools
Proven experience in using Spring Framework and data structures
Experiece in Weblogic/JBoss, SQL (MS-SQL preferred) & Messaging JMS/EMS/MQ / XML
Good knowledge of emerging software development methods, tools and standards and actively keeping this knowledge current

Skills that will help you in the role:

Capital Markets experience a plus
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Where will you be working?

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.

We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton.

Plans to furtherdevelop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
