Basic:
£85,000 - £100,000 + benefits


Role:
Lead Engineering Squads (developers & QA's) & strategically develop this function


Location:
hybrid - 4 days in the Manchester city centre and Cheshire offices, 1 day remote

Our client is a fast growing, global SaaS company who provide a collaborative platform which ensures their clients work as efficiently and accurately as possible.

This business has tripled in size over the last 5 years and have plans to double in size again over the next 3.

As Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the strategic development of the business.

You will lead the engineering squads whilst working closely with the CTO, overseeing the technical direction of projects whilst also working with colleagues tocoordinate technical initiatives and drive best practice.


This role will contribute towards strategy, organisational design and helping ensure they have a rewarding environment for the engineers and that they have a psychologically safe environment in which to innovate and grow.

Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Manager


  • Provide technical leadership across several Squads within the engineering team (Developers and QA's)
  • Forge strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
  • Build an inclusive and diverse engineering culture that people want to be a part of
  • Help Tech/Squad Leads and Senior Engineers to become high performers via personal & professional development: listen to them, support them when things are hard, and celebrate their successes
  • Manage regular 1:1s, goal setting, career paths, development plans, constructive feedback, and stakeholder management to help build relationships
  • Work closely with the HR Team to identify, interview and recruit into open engineering positions
  • Structure Squads, spotting and filling gaps with an eye to future workloads and capabilities
  • Foster collaboration & enabling knowledge sharing

Experience Required:
Engineering Manager


  • Proven hands on technical leadership alongside managing engineering functions (developers and QA's)
  • Previous software development experience (ideally in.
Net / C#

  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to drive and maintain a positive culture
  • Experience managing multiple streams of work
  • A proactive approach to self and team development
  • Ability to organise, prioritise workload across a team
  • Passionate about building and enabling autonomous crossfunctional teams
  • Commercial acumen is essential with a proven track record of improvements without lowering standards
