    (Locum) 0.9 WTE Specialty Dentist in Oral Surgery

    Dundee Dental Hospital and Research School

    Dundee Dental Hospital & Research School is situated on the University of Dundee campus, close to the city centre. There are five clinical floors consisting of open clinics and closed surgeries with 100 dental chairs. The hospital is linked to Dundee Dental Education Centre, which includes a Postgraduate Centre, a 38-place clinical skills laboratory and various offices.

    This post is a fixed-term appointment (12 months) starting in April 2024 to provide Maternity cover, to support the treatment of NHST Head and Neck cancer patients who require surgical treatment and to contribute to reducing our current waiting lists both in Oral Surgery and Dental A&E. The post is based at Dundee Dental Hospital & Research School and is available as a job-share. Appropriate candidates for this post will hold full registration with the General Dental Council.

    The post holder will help deliver the diagnostic and advisory service to new patients referred to the Oral Surgery service based at the Dental Hospital, ensuring that the referrer is provided with appropriate advice and information regarding their patient's treatment. The post holder will undertake treatment sessions, some of which may include student teaching within the Dental Hospital. She/he will share with honorary consultant colleagues and other clinical staff, responsibility for the functioning of the oral surgery clinical service and the deployment of more junior staff.
