Would you like the opportunity to join a highly successful team? We are looking to appoint an ICT Apprentice, who will be responsible for providing IT support to staff and pupils at Southend School for Girls in line with the vision and values of Southend School for Girls.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist the ICT Manager in managing the whole school ICT network, to ensure that the educational and business needs of the school are met
  • To assist the ICT Manager with the procurement of both hardware and software
  • To assist with the installation and maintenance of computer hardware
  • To ensure that all new staff have correct access to the school's computer systems
  • To deal promptly with user issues
  • To assist with the installation of software and ensure proper records are kept of licences
  • To keep adequate records of all faults
  • To assist with the maintenance of the telephone system software
  • To ensure that the ICT Suites are ready for use each day
  • To check the ICT suites after the last lesson each day to ensure everything is tisy and in good order
  • To support school staff and students in the technical aspects of ICT
  • To ensure IT equipment is in place ready for visitors, meetings and assemblies

General

  • To undertake appropriate training within the post
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development, and training requirements relevant to your role in discussion with line manager
  • To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace
  • Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School's Equality and Diversity Policy

Key Details:


Salary:
£5.45 per hour (A fantastic apprentice wage)

Working week:
Full time. (Term Time)

Apprenticeship Details - 24 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

LMP Education (rated 3rd best UK training provider)
