    With 8 depots across the UK, M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions provide innovative plant and fleet asset management solutions across M Group Services.

    We provide our business with more than 9,000 vehicles and over 25,000 owned or externally hired plant assets.


    Our team has grown rapidly and we are responsible for the supply and management of specialist equipment and vehicles, supplying the Water, Energy, Transport, Data and Telecommunication sectors.

    Who you are?


    You will effectively manage the M Group Services Service Maintenance & Repair (SMR) supply chain, including main dealers, parts suppliers, and external service providers locally.

    As well as, cost control and management of external supply chain in respect of SMR supply.

    You will also work closely with the Compliance Service Centre to achieve 100% compliance with effective planning of activities.

    As the Workshop Manager, you'll get the opportunity to:

    Ensure that the provision of maintenance is kept within the set budgets and targets.

    Actively contribute to cost control measures balanced against ensuring that repairs are to a high standard and meet all current regulations and SHEQ standards.

    Recognise that vehicle / plant downtime is a cost to the business and effective VOR management is vital to the success of the business.

    Reports daily / weekly on VOR and communicate as required to all departments. Manage the" Loss of Use" process to ensure that all potential costs are claimed back
    Actively engage with your workforce, demonstrate strong leadership through your own actions and behaviours.
    Ensure that all Vehicles, Plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. Both mechanically and visually with a "right first time" attitude for your workshop catchment area.
    Ensure that all service and inspection documentation is completed to the correct standard without deviation.
    Instil a "Safety first" culture, challenge all unsafe behaviour and document as required.
    Report monthly on all spending activity.
    What you'll bring?

    Technically qualified in either plan or fleet.
    Previous line management experience in a workshop/maintenance background.
    Can work on own initiative.
    Good communication & Leadership Skills.
    Good decision maker based on balancing Cost – Quality – Asset availability.
    Good IT skills anduse of Microsoft office.
    Good analytical and RCA Skills.
    Good Legal understanding of Vehicle maintenance.
    Demonstrate understanding of H&S and site DRP responsibilities.
    Be a Good cross functional manager and understand the needs of Internal customers.
