What you'll do

As a Rates Trading Technical Specialist, you'll be overseeing appropriate technical solutions for programmes and platforms with expertise to meet business requirements in accordance with business-wide change standards.

You'll use your expertise to serve asan integral part of the Rates business and its risk management activities, a trusted partner collaborating with the team to ensure smooth operations and deliver favourable business outcomes.

You'll also be leading and overseeing high quality technical analysis, design and delivery of technology and quantitative solutions or components, including guidance, development, configuration and management services for technologies, models, platforms andproducts.


Day-to-day, you'll be:

  • Building, managing and maintaining a positive working relationship with stakeholders and thirdparty suppliers across multiple franchises and functions
  • Capturing, validating, and documenting complex business requirements, making sure they are in line with key strategic principles
  • Utilising our standard processes by understanding the development lifecycles and minimum mandatory requirements
  • Articulating and quantifying technical impacts in a tangible manner, which allows stakeholders to make rapid and informed decisions
The skills you'll need
You'll be highly skilled at delivering with urgency while remaining aware of and aligned to the bigger strategic picture.

Ideally, you'll have experience of trading a derivatives book, data analysis and programming, contextual knowledge such as Value at Risk,the regulatory capital regime and Fundamental Review of the Trading Book, with an understanding of Quantitative Analytics models for interest rates and related products, but this is not essential.


You'll also demonstrate:
