Training and Development ManagerPosition Overview

  • Ensure correct allocation of resources in line with production requirements (as determined by customer demand internal & external).
  • Proactively expedite all allocated work in line with manufacturing 'build plans' and 'chase lists.
  • Report job status to production manager as required.
  • Review all production processes and procedures within the cell with the review as a basis for recommending improvement activities.
  • Develop team members by identifying and recommending methods of addressing training and development needs.
  • Carry out annual performance appraisals, maintain skills matrices and individual training plans as necessary.
  • Ensure teams compliance with H & S, Environmental and Quality policies & procedures.
  • Assist in the induction of all new team members as required
  • Generate and maintain production KPI's (to be posted within respective cells).
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities (5s, TPM, JIT etc).
  • Effectively manage the use of consumables.
  • Work on new product introductions as required
  • Directly train the operator using Standard Operation and any other relevant documentation eg Risk assessment or safe methods of working.
  • Ensure that the training covers compliance with health, safety, environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Work with Process Engineer to identify and introduce measures or means to improve machine utilization and efficiency.
  • Working with the Process Engineer, capture and document Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Monitor the flow of work against the chase list and give feedback to Production Manager.
  • Use of CMM measuring equipment required.
  • Set and operate machines to provide cover for holidays and sickness.

Training and Development ManagerPosition Requirements

  • Previous experience within a similar position
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team to achieve targets
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Must have a good amount of experience within Manufacutirng/Production
  • Use of CMM measuring equipment is advantageous
  • Must live within a commutable distance of Salisbury

Training and Development ManagerPosition Remuneration

  • Full time
  • Permanent position
  • Monday to Friday
  • Salary £33,000 to £35,000 (DOE)
  • Competitive holiday allowance
  • Pension
