This position assists and advises the Provost & Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs on all matters relating to the Division of Academic Affairs and acts as the Provost & Executive Vice President's designee.

The Vice Provost is responsible for the Upper Bucks Campus, the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks, the Office of Academic Partnerships, Perkins Programs, and RADAR (Institutional Research).


Primary Functions:

  • Prepare and submit all documentation to PA Department of Education regarding high priority and highcost occupation programs.
  • Represent Bucks on PA Transfer and Articulation Oversight Committee (TAOC) to develop and maintain statewide transferability of credits among all member institutions (all PA community colleges, state universities, and some private schools).
  • Manage the staff operating Upper Bucks and Epstein Campuses, Academic Partnerships, Perkins Programs, and RADAR.
  • Work with the Provost & Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs in all faculty and student related issues.
  • Work with the Provost & Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs in interactions with faculty federation.
  • Calculate fulltime/parttime faculty ratios every semester in order to comply with Faculty Contract.
  • Review, evaluate and act on all program of study substitutions, academic restarts, and plagiarism charges.
  • Manage shared campus classes.
  • Monitor requirements and compliance for under 500 hours and ACA. Manage Perkins articulation agreements on Academy One.
  • Review and edit proposed articulation agreements with transfer schools. Review and edit proposed articulation and other agreements with secondary schools. Prepare annual curriculum report for Board of Trustees. Prepare annual curriculum update for campus offices.
  • Annually review and revise faculty handbook.
  • Review and edit program of study audits. Oversee catalog development and review, prepare catalog entries related to academic affairs. Work with academic department deans in preparing master course schedule with particular attention to the Upper and Lower Bucks campuses. Identify CIP codes for all new programs of study. Manage subscription with economic services program (currently EMSI/Lightcast). Consult on PLA issues. Represent Bucks on the Advisory Councils of the Bucks County Technical High School and Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. Manage all academic related issues for gainful employment legislation. Participate in hiring interviews for faculty and deans. Act as liaison for institutions offering classes on Bucks campuses. Prepare and submit proposals to standing governance committees.

Secondary Functions:

  • Work with Academic Deans to develop schedules for Newtown Campus.
  • Develop schedules for Lower and Upper Bucks Campuses.
  • Advise Office of PLA & Transfer Services regarding courses and programs of study. Develop and monitor all articulation agreements with secondary and postsecondary schools.
  • Salary range: $95,042 $125,228 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree plus 46 years of progressively responsible experience in administration of higher education in a community college setting, with an earned doctorate (Ph.
D., J.D., or Ed.
D.) preferred.- Significant and demonstrated experience in negotiating and maintaining partnerships with academic entities.- Demonstrated experience in representing community college leadership in collective bargaining conversations and/or negotiations.- Knowledge of all curricula, program of study requirements, and all Academic Affairs policies.- Knowledge of faculty contract and collective bargaining in higher education environment.- Knowledge of and experience with navigating the intersections between enrollment and academics.- Ability to work with the Provost & Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and act for them in their absence.- Ability to work with all academic departments and faculty.- Ability to develop good working relationships with personnel of secondary and transfer schools.- Thorough understanding of the PA Transfer and Articulation Oversight Committee.- Thorough understanding of transfer relationships between community colleges and four-year institutions.
