    We are currently seeking an experienced Hygiene Supervisor to work Nights in our Beef and Lamb Sections.

    This is a full time, permanent position working 4 nights on / 3 nights off - not weekends. With a salary of £35,000 per annum.

We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

    Requirements

    To supervise the Night Hygiene Department, ensuring the company complies with any relevant legislation. Ensure standards and targets of cleanliness are achieved and continuously improved.

    Responsible for the coordination of the night hygiene departments activities, to provide area's cleaned to the agreed standards and within deadlines, areas are required to be in a clean and hygienic environment, ensuring food safety, authenticity, legality and quality.

    Role Requirements:

    • Supervision of night shift Hygiene Team, responsible for the effective delivery of the hygiene services across the site factory areas.
    • Delivery excellent hygiene, health and safety practices through the development of the cleaning processes for the site.
    • Drive continual improvement of hygiene processes and service.
    • Maintain and safely operate tools, equipment and chemicals.
    • Ensure all aspects of the hygiene duties are carried out and maintained to the required standard.
    • Deliver effective performance management to team, positively engaging and motivating staff, providing feedback supporting continued learning and development through training plans, addressing any issues promptly and in accordance with company's HR policies and procedures.
    • Train out SOP's and CIC's on all tasks and equipment being cleaned.
    • Check and sign off areas on a daily basis (to be agreed with Hygiene Manager).
    • Ensure that cleaning of all machinery, tools and equipment are to the required standard.
    • Ensure that cleaning of floors, walls and work surfaces within the production areas are to the required standards.
    • Monitor and maintain the handling and storage of materials. Ensure the chemical stores are clean, tidy and locked each night.
    • Order chemicals and complete chemical stock sheets.
    • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and if not, ensure equipment is reported to Maintenance for repair.
    • Complete all relevant documentation.
    • Develop and maintain robust waste segregation processes to drive a reduction in landfill waste.
    • Embed safety measures across all hygiene and waste handling activities to reduce accidents and lost time incidents.
    • Participate and conduct compliance audits / inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation.
    • Support the Technical Team in obtaining water samples for testing and participating in microbiological investigations.
    • Ensure all hazards, accidents / incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
    • Provide cover in the absence, if required, of Hygiene Manager
    • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
    • Maintain the departments time and attendance using Crown.
    • Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.
