We are delighted to advertise this position as a permanent, full time Medical Secretary to provide a comprehensive, high quality secretarial and administrative service to the lead renal pharmacists and the wider renal pharmacy team in Morriston Hospital.


As a key team member, you will often be the first point of contact for people with kidney disease who have questions about their medicines and treatments; therefore, you will need excellent communication skills.

You will need to show empathy and compassion towards patients, family members and carers.


You will co-ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate patients' progression along defined pathways, maintain office organisation and monitor team workload.

The post holder will provide an expert administration service to the renal pharmacy specialty and its associated work streams.

The post holder will support lead renal pharmacists and the wider renal pharmacy team including specialist prescribing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and service coordinators.


The post holder will follow best practice and processes, support diary management, co-ordinate workload and appointments, and outpatient and admission related information for patients and carers.


The post holder will ensure all administration duties relating to the patient pathway are adhered to as per the department Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and will co-ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate the patient's progression along defined pathways, using understanding of work procedures own experiences and practices.


Using their own knowledge and experience the post holder will maintain and improve the office organisation and will delegate and monitor the workload related to the medical secretary administration team.


Collect and collate information relevant to the patient and the service, and report on statistics as directed by the line manager.
