    We are recruiting a Quality Control Supervisor on a 15 month fixed term contract who will be responsible for leading a team of QC Analysts.

    Day-to-day responsibilities

    • Responsible for providing line management and supervision for the QC Analysts
    • Provide the team and wider QC group with training, motivation and coaching to achieve effective performance standards and personal growth
    • Drive continuous improvement of laboratory Health and Safety compliance while ensuring Health & Safety and COSHH adherence
    • Understand fully the GMP and Data Integrity principles and their application in the role
    • Manage or support the scheduling of testing workload and delegate testing activities to the team
    • Mentor and support team members in analytical techniques and quality processes and ensure training records for self and wider team are maintained and updated on a regular basis
    • Demonstrate competency in most of test methods, analytical techniques and product preparation methods relevant to assigned role
    • Train employees in a number of test methods, analytical techniques and product preparation methods
    • Optimise service operations for consistent achievement of on-time analysis. Drive high quality and on-time delivery to internal and external customers
    • Provide a level of support within the team by demonstrating to and training of junior Analysts in analytical methods and techniques
    • Complete actions associated with CAPA, Deviations and Change Control within the agreed time schedules
    • Write concise, accurate and scientifically robust LIRs which also demonstrate understanding of GMP

    Skills/Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years experience working to GMP and GLP standards within the pharmaceutical industry
    • Minimum of 2 year's experience leading a team
    • Some experience of other analytical techniques such as GC, IR, UV-VIS
    • Some experience of lean and 5S principles
    • BSc Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
    • Has technical expertise in at least 1 analytical methodology
    • Demonstrates competency in most test methods and analytical techniques relevant to assigned role
    • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis tools and techniques
    • Experience working with HPLC/Chromatography techniques
    • Experience working with Pharmacopoeia methodologies
