    A core function of this role is to work with the operational manager, and Head of Clinical delivery, to ensure effective capacity and demand modelling, optimised utilisation, waiting times and clinical skill mix within services. These services may be cross-specialty dependent on geographical area and are subject to change as contracts grow and evolve.

    Main duties of the job

  • Provide clinical leadership to colleagues working within the services to ensure safe and effective delivery of clinical interventions in line with professional standards and governance requirements (incidents, complaints, risk, audit, medicines management, infection control, safeguarding) with associated reporting.
  • Contribute to Academy delivery by being involved with the faculty, providing education to colleagues across Connect, alongside assuring quality of locally delivered education sessions.
  • Ensure that the multi-professional workforce is supported to thrive and develop in line with relevant policy and guidance , recruitment, induction, supervision, performance appraisal, capability assessments, wellbeing.
  • Develop and foster productive relationships with local clinical stakeholders including patient groups, community groups, PCNs, Consultants, GPs, and other clinically important contacts both internal and external to Connect, inclusive of reducing health inequalities.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of clinical quality (outcomes, experience, safety) within services through a focus on pathway optimisation and responsible use of available resources (, clinical capacity).
  • Personally deliver high quality clinical care to patients and lead by example meeting the clinical and commercial needs of the services.

    This post combines a clinical caseload with a requirement to provide clinical leadership to the portfolio of services within an allocated geographical area.     To provide clinical leadership to colleagues working within the services to ensure safe and effective delivery of clinical interventions in line with professional standards and governance requirements (incidents, complaints, risk, audit, medicines management, infection control, safeguarding) with associated reporting.

    To be responsible for the implementation of competency and educational frameworks within the services.

    To monitor quality for clinical service delivery in the service and ensure the provision of personalised care.

    To oversee and ensure that colleagues utilise the Academy to support theirprofessional and personal development, including supporting a research culture.

    To contribute to Academy delivery by being involved with the faculty, providing education to colleagues across Connect, alongside assuring quality of locally delivered education sessions.

    Ensure that the multi-professional workforce is supported to thrive and develop in line with relevant policy and guidance , recruitment, induction, supervision, performance appraisal, capability assessments, wellbeing.

    To utilise Advanced Practitioner or Consultant Practitioner expertise to manage a varied and complex clinical caseload within the community service contract. Specifically, when operating as an Advanced or Consultant Practitioner this will include:

    To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical and professional activities.

    To demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and to maintain a contemporary record of such activity, in line with recommendations from professional body/regulator as appropriate.

    There may be a requirement, on occasion, to provide support and or cover forConnect contracts in other areas of the country, usually remotely but occasionally in person as required.

  • The role of Clinical Delivery Lead is fundamentally about providing leadership regarding clinical
  • delivery across services within an allocated geographic area. This is in addition to the provision of
  • high-quality care within personal clinical caseload.
  • To achieve this, the Clinical Delivery Lead will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of the
  • clinical competencies required of the clinicians within the service as well as an ability to think, lead
  • and effectively implement frameworks and services to meet the evolving requirements of the
  • service(s) and patients. They will need to be highly self-motivated, and achievement orientated and
  • be required to provide inspirational clinical leadership.
  • From a clinical perspective the Clinical Delivery Lead will be an AHP/Nurse educated to at least
  • Masters level (or equivalent) in their field of specialty and be able to provide a highly specialised
  • source of expertise, with clear evidence of working at L7 across Clinical Practice, Leadership and
  • Management, Education, Research and Audit as outlined in the HEE Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Framework.
  • This role is also open to those working at a Consultant-level of practice defined as being educated to
  • doctoral level (or equivalent) with clear evidence of working at Level 8 across Clinical Practice,
  • Leadership and Management, Education, Research and Audit as outlined in the HEE Consultant
  • Framework. If appointed as a Clinical Delivery Lead who is working at a Consultant-level of practice,
  • you will be supported and expected to contribute effectively to projects and activities that contribute
  • towards organisational performance beyond your geographical area.
