This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and forward thinking administrator.

Working in collaboration with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital clinicians and our partners at Skin Analytics, the Administrator for Dermatology Innovation will have hands on experience working with one of the NHS' first clinical deployments of Artificial Intelligence.

The post holders will be a significant part of the team shaping this brand new clinical pathway. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled patient administrator looking to progress and develop.


The post holder will be required to provide admin support to facilitate successful implementation of Skin Analytics technology in the assessment of suspicious skin lesions.

The post holder will be expected to schedule appointments on the Trust PAS system, Cerner. They will be expected to communicate effectively with patients, managers and doctors.

  • To establish and maintain administrative processes for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital's innovative skin lesion pathway using Skin Analytics technology.
  • To work with clinicians and the Skin Analytics team to share feedback on the pathway and systems to continually improve hospital processes and patient experience
  • Liaise with other departments and teams relating to the patient care pathway and service delivery
  • To take and relay as appropriate, telephone enquiries and messages, using initiative and prioritising skills when disseminating information
  • To maintain clinic diaries, ensuring all changes are notified to the relevant staff
  • Organise and prioritise workload with mínimal supervision
  • To support in the booking and changing of new appointments where necessary and agreed
  • Continually monitor Outpatient clinics, being aware of any possible breaches to current initiatives and update line manager as appropriate
  • Advise line manager of any capacity issues, ensuring all clinic slots are utilised and booking rules are adhered to
  • Book transport as and when necessary and communicate with transport office any changes when rebooking a patient's appointment
  • Assist in the training of all new staff within the department or other departments within the Trust
  • To perform any admin duties required for specific area of work
  • Photocopying, filing, faxing, and other general office duties.
  • Adhere to trustwide standard operating procedures and policies developed for clinical administrative processes and participate in their development
  • Suggest improvements to systems, with ways of measuring effectiveness of any changes made.
  • To continually develop and suggest new ideas for improving the patient experience, and to ensure 'go beyond' is being delivered in your area
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Collect and use data to measure performance of department and specifically this research programme against objectives.
  • Contact with GPs and other hospital trusts and health clinics to ensure that the patient and their health record case notes are available for their scheduled appointment.
  • Use initiative when dealing with patients' problems or when dealing with managers and consultants who may request patient information.
  • To assist all members of staff an patients with the uptake of new technologies, and where required become a 'user champion' to embed learning
