The Department of Clinical Photography and Illustration (DCPI), based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to join our experienced and motivated team as a Trainee Clinical Photographer.

The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and remunerated at Band 4.

There is also a 4.5% pay enhancement for participating in the on-call clinical photography service at a 1 in 4 frequency (Saturdays and Sundays, 9am-5pm).

Once completed, qualified and AHCS registered, the post holder will be uplifted to NHS AfC Band 5.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and professional individual with photographic experience and qualifications, and an interest in clinical photography.

You should have excellent information technology skills and be able to work well within a team as well as independently, when required.

The trainee clinical photographer supports all clinical specialities including plastic surgery, dermatology, oral surgery, ENT and paediatrics (including sudden infant death and non-accidental injury), taking photographs in the studio, operating theatres, mortuary, outpatient clinics and on the wards.

Illustration (graphic design) and video are a major part of the DCPI's remit and the trainee clinical photographer will be expected to participate in this work using industry standard software e.g.

Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
