    The Role:

    A large, renowned architecture practice who are at the top of their game and are recognised for their iconic and innovative projects across the globe are seeking a commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join their London team.

    The role will focus on providing commercial and legal expertise to the practice on a global scale, with a focus on the EMEA region. You will work closely with the CLO whilst having the support of the wider legal team members across their international offices. You will be a solid and confident adviser who can lead on negotiations, spot risks, but also find solutions and advise on complex, commercial aspects on an international level. The role would suit someone who has strong, demonstratable legal and commercial experience, who has supported and led on an international level, ideally within the architecture/built environment, with EMEA expertise being highly beneficial.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead contract preparation, reviews, and negotiations for diverse and complex agreements
    • Identify and address legal, insurance, and commercial risks
    • Contribute to enhancing standard contract management practices
    • Aid in insurance applications and manage claims as required
    • Provide in-house training on contract risks and legal updates
    • Be a go to person for commercial and legal advice across the board
    • Develop and maintain standard business terms and conditions
    • Support company registrations and assist with risk management
    • Bring forward ideas and support with streamlining and developing existing processes and procedures
    • Work collaboratively with the international legal team

    Key Skills:

    • Proficient in architectural/engineering/built environment contracts
    • Demonstrated post-qualification experience, including in-house exposure
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills
    • Assertive and calm problem-solver
    • Able to articulate and simplify legal jargon to others in the business who are not legally trained
    • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and working to deadlines
    • Experience at an international with involvement in EMEA projects being highly desirable
    • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering high-quality work
    • Initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail
