Role definition
Working in a busy group communications team, this is the perfect job for someone who wants to develop their employee's communications skills across a range of different areas.
Supporting the Senior Communications Manager (Special Projects), this role coversa wide range of responsibilities and would suit someone who likes variety and working with many different people.
This role supports the delivery of multiple communications campaigns including content creation (video, blogs and other collateral) and drivingsocial media engagement.
Key accountabilities
- Assisting the Senior Communications Manager with the development and implementation of strategic group communications plans with a focus to inform, inspire and engage employees
- Drafting and editing communications copy and material to create engaging and creative content for a variety of channels (blogs, social media, website, intranet) and diverse audiences
- Support the daytoday tactical delivery of communications campaigns and activities
- Source and develop recognition and success people stories aligned to our company strategy, values and behaviours
- Work with the Digital Team to deploy content through our core digital channels
- Analyse the impact and effectiveness of all communications activities to inform future plans and engagement
- Ensure all content, messaging and collateral aligns to our narrative and represents the brand in the most effective way
- Keep uptodate with the latest trends and best practice in employee communications, sharing this with the wider team to continuously improve engagement
Key competencies
- Ability to multitask competing projects and to priorities workload; working at pace and under pressure
- A passion for communications, with keen interest in new technologies, platforms and channels
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
- Able to build relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Writes in a clear and concise manner, using appropriate grammar, style and language for the audience; with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and develop
Experience and qualifications
- Degree level educated or equivalent working experience
- 2+ years' experience in communications, particularly within employee communications
- Demonstrable experience working in a complex stakeholder environment, with good relationship management skills
- Experience of managing external agencies, contractors, designers and content producers
- Experience of editing and updating intranet/web content and analysing web analytics
