    ABOUT YOU

    As the Laboratory Technician, you will be lab based, however there will be elements of client interactions required. The role includes but is not limited to; Chemical and analytical testing, supporting in the laboratory on outsourcing projects, comprehension use of database systems, administrative procedures, and has a high commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement.

    Required skills and experience:

  • Good IT literacy skills (MS Office/Excel/Word)
  • Previous experience of chemical, analytical, lab testing would be preferred
  • Experience and ability to compile data reports and word reports
  • Manage multiple priorities with close attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions as well as being a solutions provider
  • Work unaided and be a self-starter
  • ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    You will manage the preparation, testing, reporting and outgoing of samples for sorting, filing and management of both electronic and hard copy documents. In addition, you will engage in a wide range of laboratory and administrative activities to ensure efficient and effective technical support is provided.

    Key activities:

  • Perform Analytical chemistry testing such as pH & Formaldehyde
  • Handling & usage of chemicals: Storage and maintenance of documentation of chemical usage
  • Timely, accurate and efficient preparation and management of documents and samples being sent to other laboratories.
  • Quality checks of data and report documentation
  • Enter data from various sources into the data management system and ensure data integrity by verifying input and output to customers, including using the LIMS system.
  • Control the numbering, sorting, filing, storing and retrieval of both electronic and hard copy documents produced by yourself and the team.
  • Working as a collaborate team member, with other laboratories to ensure customer care is a priority and turnaround times for reporting are met.
  • Plan work to ensure that priorities and deadlines are achieved ensuring prompt responses to incoming communications (telephone, email etc)
