- Providing accurate legal advice on secured lending transactions, security structures and enforcement processes
- Advise the business across a range of legal matters (using external solicitors as appropriate)
- Assisting in the preparation of default notices, reservation of rights letters, consents, waivers and variation agreements, protecting our position as a secured lender at all times
- Providing advice and assistance in contract negotiation with third parties
- Updating (non-employee) policies and ensuring the business is aware of its responsibilities
- Maintain legal knowledge and be aware of any legislative changes
- 2+ years PQE
- Experience in advising non-legal and legal professionals
- Previous banking and finance experience is desirable. In addition, experience in at least one of the following areas is beneficial:
- Corporate restructuring or insolvency
- Commercial contracts

Our client is a multi-sector alternative lender who assists mid-sized SMEs to thrive by providing consistent, timely, flexible funding solutions. They provide loans using pioneering data, personal relationships, and a pragmatic and flexible lending process.
The role sits within the legal team which provides support both in relation to new lending opportunities and in relation to existing borrowers. The role involves working closely with colleagues across the business and external counsel. You will also be involved in the management of external legal panel relationships, and have the opportunity to work on a range of work not directly related to lending activities, such as commercial contracts, disputes and discrete legal projects.
