  • We're looking for a Design Advisor to join our Home Improvement Advisory team. Your main role will be to guide and inspire homeowners as they work on their building and improvement projects, focusing on bringing in more daylight and fresh air to their living spaces.

    VELUX is on an exciting journey to enhance homes by incorporating daylight and fresh air designs into renovation and remodelling projects. As a Design Advisor you'll advise and guide our customers, both virtually and personally, on VELUX options and designs. You'll be their primary contact from the initial idea to the final installation.

    Your Responsibilities:

    At our office in Glenrothes you will become part of a new consumer services department and work within a team of highly innovative and skilled colleagues.

    As a Design Advisor, you will act as personal advisor for our customers – mainly by phone, email and virtual consultations. Based on dialogue and materials provided by the customers, you will identify their expectations and needs, understand the project scope, and offer relevant design advice for the building project - thereby also driving sales.

    More specifically, you will:

  • Listen to customers and understand their project needs.
  • Ensure full understanding of the project's requirements, aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
  • Inspire customers with daylight solutions and suitable product recommendations.
  • Recommend the best daylight solution and request visualisations from our partner colleagues.
  • Provide product and service information to simplify the building process.
  • Take full ownership of the customer's journey and experience.
  • Your Qualifications:

  • You are service-minded and focussed on delivering high quality and commercially focused interactions with customers. Your curiosity and confident communication skills help you to successfully tap into customer needs.
  • You thrive in an outgoing role and with your interpersonal skills you easily build effective relationships whether it is face-to-face, on the telephone or via email. You quickly connect with people and your approach inspires trust and and enthusiasm. You actively propose, recommend, and guide the way, but you understand that to succeed, you need to be an even stronger listener.
  • With your structured approach and attention to details, you never lose sight of a customer project, and you understand that delivering within the deadline is crucial for this role.
  • Furthermore, you:

  • Possess a sales-mindset and the ability to close a sale and at the same time ensure that the customer is getting the best possible solution.
  • Hold well-developed questioning techniques to ensure in-depth understanding of customer needs.
  • Have a curious mind-set and are excited to learn about our product portfolio and offerings.
  • Have solid IT-skills and experience working with CRM-systems.
  • Have advanced written and verbal communication skills.
