    Job summary

    We are recruiting for a Data Administrator - Neonatal who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

    This is an exciting post , the post holder is a key member of the neonatal team and plays an important role in all aspects of data collection and audit.

    The neonatal unit supports professional development and innovative working.

    The role will be ensuring accurate and high quality neonatal data collection and reporting for the service.

    Data collection is required for commissioning purposes for the service as well as ensuring the requirements are met for both local and national standards.

    You will lead on all aspects of neonatal data entry, data entry completeness, collection and data quality checks.

    You will provide a coordinated approach to data collection within the neonatal unit, ensuring the unit achieves accurate, reliable computerised records of patient level of care and unit activity level data.

    Main duties of the job

    The Data Administrator will have responsible for the monitoring of data standard and collation of clinical data to support the unit's local and national compliance.

    The successful candidate will be the Neonatal Unit Badgernet Lead and provide a link with the national Badgernet team. You will attend the National Badgernet user group meetings and represent the unit at this forum.

    Assist in the inputting of patient details onto the Badgernet neonatal data system regarding admissions, discharges and the daily cot activity information.

    The post holder will support the neonatal team in maintaining contemporaneous data entries onto the Badgernet neonatal data system.

  • Educated at A level standard or professional experience
  • Previous knowledge of medical terminology
  • Previous Experience

  • Previous information/data management experience
  • Experience in interpreting clinical data
  • Experience in all aspects of Microsoft windows application
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work closely with all grades of staff

  • Previous employment within the NHS within a hospital environment or other related experience
  • Experience in the use of Neonatal Badgernet and its reporting functions

  • Good IT skills
  • Experience in extracting and interpreting clinical information from clinical records
