    CK Group are recruiting for an R&D chemist to join an innovative sealing solutions manufacturer based in Slough, Berkshire. This is a full time permanent role offering a salary ranging from £30,000-£40,000 per annum depending on experience.

    Our client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of closure liners and flexible packaging for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, health care, personal care, household and industrial applications. They are known for their technical innovation, quality products and exceptional customer service.

    Responsibilities of a successful candidate:

    The purpose of the role will be to provide support to the Technical Manager in delivering the company's product development. This exciting role involves all aspects of NPD from Concept to launch of new innovations in addition to continuous improvement of the existing products.


    • Assist in managing technical projects such as new product development, raw material dual sourcing, and process improvement following company's validation process.


    • Attend manufacturing trials in operations, documenting and communicating observations to the team.


    • Generate raw material specifications.


    • Evaluate trial materials through rigorous testing activities to determine their suitability and effectiveness.


    • Create new SOPs for manufacturing processes and testing methods as needed.


    • Provides technical support to the European Regulatory Affairs team to ensure that Declarations of Conformity are prepared properly.


    • Support in generating Bill of Materials in the ERP system.


    • Carry out Risk Assessments for new chemical substances which are intended to be used in the company's facility.

    The R&D Chemist should have the following skills and experience:


    • Educated to Degree Level (BSc or MSc in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials engineering or similar).


    • Experience of > 5 years working in an industrial environment preferred.


    • Knowledge of plastic processing would be beneficial.


    • Be aware of and comply with Health and Safety legislation and company requirements relevant to your role
