    Position: Food and Beverage Manager

    Reports to: Hotel Manager

    Manages the following departments: Restaurant, Bar, Lobby, Mini Bar and In Room Dining.

    What will I be doing?

    We are looking for a French-speaking Food and Beverage Manager, pivotal in nurturing team spirit, motivation, and service excellence across all F&B outlets. Responsibilities include overseeing restaurant, bar, in-room dining, minibar, and reception lobby operations, ensuring seamless breakfast, lunch, and dinner services. Efficiently managing daily departmental needs to enhance guest satisfaction is central.

    Paramount are effective communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships among team members. Your active participation in shaping departmental policies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement is crucial. Additionally, impeccable presentation and proactive guest engagement are essential for ensuring utmost satisfaction, given the customer-facing aspect of the role.

    • Ensure seamless service by overseeing all aspects of the restaurant, bar, lobby, minibar, and in-room dining.
    • Collaborate effectively with team members by participating in departmental meetings and briefings, offering support, and assisting as needed to collectively achieve hotel objectives.
    • Be available to greet and liaise with clients, accurately conveying their F&B requirements to the operations team, even outside of regular office hours.
    • Handle guest complaints promptly, efficiently, and professionally, adhering to hotel procedures on behalf of the team.
    • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory controls, including UK laws.

    Managing a Bar, IRD and Restaurant

    • Collaborating closely with the chef to enhance restaurant and room service menu selections.
    • Supervising the operational aspects of the minibar.
    • Assisting in managing operational service demands.
    • Welcoming and attending to all hotel guests and VIPs.
    • Conducting regular staff tastings to ensure quality standards are maintained.

    Hotel

    • Maintains comprehensive awareness of social media and hotel review feedback, taking appropriate action as needed.
    • Ensures adherence to local legislation across all departments.
    • Assists in implementing the annual special events and promotion plan.

    Managing Financial Performance

    • Utilises key performance indicators and financial targets to assess departmental performance and strategies for the future.
    • Assists in forecasting potential revenues and costs.
    • Ensures timely compilation of departmental forecasts and budgets, achieving set targets and guidelines.

    Managing Health and Safety

    • Ensure all team members in assigned departments are informed of and comply with security, health, and safety regulations.
    • Attend mandatory training sessions as necessary and ensure operations are updated and compliant with any legislative changes.
    • Represent the department on the Health and Safety Committee and stay informed about pertinent legislation including Licence laws.

    Recruitment, Staffing, and Team Development

    • Develop and execute recruitment, training, and team growth strategies.
    • Provide coaching, training, and development for management and hourly employees.
    • Oversee regular performance reviews for all staff following Performance Management guidelines.

    What are we looking for?

    • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within a luxury property (pre-opening experience is highly desirable)
    • Has excellent knowledge of wines and champagne
    • Has strong upselling skills
    • Has customer service know-how and thrives on creating unique experiences
    • Has an outgoing and unique personality who prefers to stay in the outlets and interact with staff and customers alike
    • Continually review staff performance and test their product knowledge
    • Always informed of new trends, fashions, art and culture
    • Ability to speak and write French is desirable
    • A self-starter who is creative, highly driven and results orientated and has the ability to be proactive and reactive to both anticipated and sudden changes
    • Strong work ethic, agility, and clarity of thought, with the ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines under pressure, despite interruptions
    • Strong leadership skills are needed to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve a high level of service.
