- Proactive portfolio management of the private company investment portfolio, ranging from high potential recent business start-ups through to more established SME's requiring a more strategic approach.
- Hands-on support requiring direct input and guidance to portfolio company management teams. Support may include strategic advice, bolt-on acquisitions, new business initiatives, cost base re-structuring and implementing exit strategies.
- Providing robust and insightful monthly/quarterly updates and reports for the individual and consolidated investee company performance within the portfolio.
- No less than 15 years' relevant work experience; previous experience as Finance Director is relatable to this role.
- Experience of working at board level in a SME environment.
- A track record of working as a senior business partner within a high growth entrepreneurial environment focused on the creation of shareholder value (e.g. turnaround, restructure, M&A, finance).
- Strong communication and influencing skills and experience of managing multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and ability to work to deadlines with minimum of supervision.
- Finance, Banking or Investment qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience of managing a portfolio of SME investments is desirable.

Portfolio Director / Portfolio Manager (This role is based in Manchester)
Maven Capital Partners, a subsidiary of Mattioli Woods, is looking for a Portfolio Director to join our Manchester team. This role will report directly to the Portfolio Team Director.
The key purpose of this role is to create value within the private company investment portfolio by providing support and guidance to investee company management teams, monitoring growth and cash requirements against plan, challenging strategy and utilising the professional network to optimise shareholder value.
