    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity to join the Infection Prevention and Control service at East Cheshire NHS Trust is available. This position is also open to applications from staff that are working as a Band 5 to progress to Band 6 through a competency assessment.

    The post holder with support will be expected to provide a visible and proactive approach to the promotion, formulation and surveillance of infection prevention and control practices which align with national and local policy.

    The post holder will work with Infection Prevention and Control Link staff along with other members of the Infection Prevention and Control Team. They will be a role model who demonstrates optimal Infection Prevention and Control practices and the Trust values.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide specialist advice and support to staff working in all sites within the Trust - Macclesfield District General Hospital, Congleton War Memorial Hospital and Knutsford Community Hospital. To monitor staff compliance with infection prevention and control policies and procedures and deliver appropriate education to staff of all grades and disciplines. To participate in audit and surveillance programmes and work in partnership with other teams to formulate action plans as required.
