Affiliate Senior Executive


Overview of role


The Affiliate Senior Executive's role is to manage the day to day running of their Affiliate accounts and support the Affiliate Account Manager to develop the client strategy.

This includes handling day to day client requests and delegating tasks where appropriate to the Affiliate Executive.


The Affiliate Senior Executive will be expected to manage and optimise both direct and network run Affiliate programs as well as working on Lead Generation campaigns and Aggregator activity.

Deliverables

  • Ensure the delivery of best practice management throughout Affiliate, Aggregator, and Lead Generation campaigns
  • Ensure clients and account managers/directors are informed of the performance of relevant activity and produce recommendations for future testing
  • Being responsible for account/ budget performance and ensuring this is in line with the campaign brief
  • Work with Senior Manager to further develop best practices and process for the Affiliate department
  • Effectively integrate affiliate marketing with the other digital channels to ensure we are delivering a holistic client solution
  • Contribute to new business research and proposals
  • Support the development of the assistants and delegate tasks accordingly to ensure that the Assistants have a consistent level of work and are delivering high quality of work
  • Develop segmented client strategies to increase the impact of affiliates for all clients
  • Champion the affiliate product and processed to other departments by way of training sessions and knowledge sharing

Reporting of the role
The role reports to the Affiliate Account Manager.

Measures of success

In three months, you would have:

  • Confidently manage day-to-day communications and negotiations for exposure packages with affiliate suppliers to delivers the best possible return on investment for your clients.
  • Build strong relationships with the network, team, publishers and wider business.

In six months, you would have:

  • Work closely with the Account Manager to deliver brilliant results for your clients to meet their individual business goals

In 12 months, you would have:

  • Confidently manage the day-to-day affiliate activity, building strategy to meet individual client KPI's with the support of the account manager.

Responsibilities of the role

Business Responsibilities:


  • Liaise with the Digital Account Directors to develop new approaches and tactics to continually improve campaign performance
  • Ensure the Account Directors and clients are informed and educated into the strategy used on campaigns
  • Working directly with clients to understand KPIs and ensure our proposed solutions meet business needs
  • Develop a strong understanding of the relevant clients' industries to ensure we are proposing appropriate solutions
  • Supporting the new business efforts through participation in RFP response documents and new business meetings where required
  • Ensure all month end spend figures are accurately provided to the relevant individuals in line with agreed deadlines
  • Ensure that all campaigns are tracked and correctly fire both client and agency tags where relevant
  • Enthusiasm to meet and build up a network of relationships with media owners

Billing and Budgeting:


  • Delivering accurate monthly client forecasts; understanding how market factors, seasonality and other media activity will impact on performance and costs
  • Responsible for precise and timely client invoicing and crediting
  • Managing relationship with payment company for timely supplier invoice payment
  • Ensure that all affiliate activity is SOX compliant

People Responsibilities:


  • Ability to manage own workload effectively and efficiently
  • Monitoring and helping to manage the workload of Affiliate Assistants
  • Building effective working relationships with the Affiliate team and other digital departments
  • Liaise with and learn from your line manager regarding managing any Assistants or Executives in the team, helping with the development of their skills and knowledge levels
  • Helping to develop the knowledge levels of colleagues on the Affiliate marketing channel
  • Effective communication and interaction with the other departments on cross channel campaigns
  • Ensure that the junior team members take control and ownership of their roles within the planning and buying process
  • Share relevant news stories and the good work you and the team do with the team and wider agency
