With the ever evolving energy industry facing a variety of significant challenges and opportunities in the coming years, developing the next regulatory business plan for Asset Operations (AO) as part of our overall RIIO 3 Submission will be key in responding to our customer and stakeholder needs, delivering for our shareholders and making possible the decarbonised energy systems of 2035.


We are looking for someone to lead the development of a robust and justifiable asset investment plan for AO and the post holder will therefore need to bring strong leadership and skills to influence internal and external key stakeholders with an ability to turn multi-disciplinary requirements into a coherent and deliverable business plan submission.


The role will lead AO's engagement with various stakeholders and their competing requirements whilst ensuring the development and delivery of a well justified business plan submission.

The individual will be required to lead both direct reports and virtual teams established across the business to deliver a successful regulatory business plan submission.

What you'll be getting up to?:

  • Leading the business unit input for the Transmission Business in the price control process; shaping options and arguments, assessing impacts ( volumes, costs etc) and collecting evidence to ensure the RIIO 3 submission delivers for all relevant stakeholders, including our customers, shareholders and for consumers.
  • Lead and own the interface with Ofgem and other key internal and external stakeholders for the price control, ensuring appropriate engagement with those stakeholders in delivering a successful regulatory outcome.
  • Work with senior leadership teams across the business and regulation team to refine and execute our RIIO 3 planning and delivery.
  • Lead the development of the businesses' narrative and drive the creation of a well justified business plan that will ultimately form the basis of our regulatory submissions to Ofgem for the next price control period.
  • Work closely with various NGET teams in the development and delivery of a coordinated price control customer and stakeholder engagement strategy and plan.
