Job overview:


Junior Clinical Fellow in Eldercare and Community Services


Roles are required at several community hospitals across the county including St Austell, Bodmin and Camborne to work on the rehabilitation wards and community assessment units.

The post holder will manage eldercare patients on the ward as part of a multi-disciplinary team whilst working alongside and helping in the support and training of the medical students and advanced clinical practioners.


Main duties of the job:


The post holder will be supported in their role working alongside GPs and eldercare consultants managing patients that are transferred from the acute hospital for rehabilitation or directly from the community.

They will participate in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients admitted to the wards.

They will be supported to take up and develop a training and education program to best suit their needs but will also benefit from working in collaboration with GP colleagues and Eldercare consultants from the acute trusts.

The wards are almost entirely paper free and benefit from an electronic prescribing and notes system.

Some of the community hospitals have point of care testing and x-ray on site to provide access to rapid diagnostics as required.


There are regular multidisciplinary meetings, all post holders will work closely with the nursing and therapy teams to get the" best outcomes for their patients.

We are seeking an enthusiastic medicine/eldercare/GP senior trainee (at CT1/ST1 level or above) who would like to join us in from April 2023 for 12 Months Fixed Term contract after sucessfull appraisal.
