Our client, an expanding medium-sized specialist IT services & solutions consultancy is looking to take on a Technical Author based at their Macclesfield office.

Working alongside the technical teams, you will be responsible for the technical writing ofdocumentation used to support the customers' users, training guides, and instructional videos.

Working in a varied role you must possess previous technical writing experience with the understanding and keen interest of different learning styles.

Offering continuousfull product training.


Duties and background experience

  • Obtaining all relevant information to generate documentation by liaising with the internal design team and collating existing documentation
  • Writing Operations Manuals and Technical Support documents to be used by their company's own Support team
  • Creating written documentation for their software products
  • Continuous development of "howto" documentation
  • Presenting documentation in keeping with the companies writing standards and guidelines
  • Producing technical and nontechnical documentation for customers
  • Producing step by step guides to collaborate with tutorials and training videos
  • Remaining current on ever evolving software features and functions
  • Controlling and maintaining general filing and archiving for all technical documents

Experience:


  • Professional standard of written and spoken English with the ability communicate with both technical and nontechnical audiences

Previous experience in a Technical Writing or Technical Content Developing role is essential:

  • Strong Windows/PCs computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • IT skills including a selfsufficiency using a range of software packages
