Residential Children's Support Worker, Gloucester


We are recruiting for a passionate, family-run service with over 25 years of collective experience working with Children, Young People, and Vulnerable Adults services across the Gloucestershire Area.


Our client gives children brighter futures and you can be part of this as a Children's Residential Support Worker in a brand new children's home, providing a warm, safe and caring enivironment for Children who cannot live with their families.


The role will be challenging so our clients seeks confident staff that can see the young person behind the emotional and challenging behaviour.


Key Responsibilities/ Skills:


  • Following all company policies and procedures in order to keep everyone safe and provide quality care including the staff code of conduct
  • Upholding and understanding relevant legislation such as the Children' Home Regulations 2015 and in particular the Quality standards
  • Promote independence through individual support planning, empowerment, promoting life skills, positive, preventative approach and promoting development of managed risk
  • To encourage and facilitate individuality, confidence and selfesteem to achieve the best outcomes for our Children
  • Working in partnership with team members and external agencies to ensure safeguarding
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Reliable shift attendance and undertaking of duties
  • Comprehensive understanding and willingness to undertake care planning
  • Ensuring clean and pleasant home environments in each home
  • Willing to undertake the training provided and work towards the mandatory qualifications in this sector Diploma Residential Care CYP within agreed timescales
  • Undertaking shift work we are open 365 days of the year for our children and staff work on a rota system over all hours

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Experience and understanding of Safeguarding and Equality
  • Diploma in Children's residential care Level 3 / 4 or are you willing to work towards?
  • Those with previous relevant experience or careers particularly welcome: such as psychology/ clinical roles/ education roles/ adult care/ health care roles/ early years
