We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for one of the UK's leading specialists in Commercial Vehicle Service and Maintenance.

Duties of an HGV Technician:

Diagnosing faults and identifying parts to be replaced/reinstalled. Brake testing, and all aspects of planned maintenance
Carry out a wide range of defect repairs (no fault finding)
Repair and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Comply with warranty procedures during repairs
Service and inspect vehicles as instructed
Road test, if required
Ensure all vehicle defects are reported to the workshop supervisor
You will be required to manage work workload effectively, across the fleet you will be working on managing paperwork and documentation effectively, in line with standard operating procedures
Ensuring all heavy goods vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that the relevant precautions are taken whilst on the premises
Liaising with customers, manufacturers, and part team
Health and safety of the workshop and staff
Prep for an MOT if need be

Skills and experience of an HGV Technician:

Excellent standard of maintenance and repair, and the ability to work on own initiative with a high degree of care and responsibility.
Previous experience within an HGV / LGV/ PSV maintenance environment
A broad understanding of commercial vehicles
Knowledge and experience of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
A technical qualification relating to commercial vehicles (City & Guilds level 3, NVQ level 3, or B/TEC)
Current full UK driving licence (HGV and FLT licence useful but not essential).
Excellent relationship skills with colleagues and customers.
Ability and motivation to work on your initiative.
