Description

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans in collaboration with the charitable organisation's leadership team.

Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders to secure financial support.

Implement strategies to cultivate and steward donor relationships, ensuring continued engagement and donor retention.

Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, including donor appreciation events, fundraising drives, and online giving campaigns.

Create compelling fundraising materials, including grant proposals, donor solicitation letters, and impact reports.


Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships, aligning them with the charitable organisation's mission and programmes.


Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop and implement effective strategies to promote fundraising initiatives and engage the community.

Monitor fundraising progress, track donations, and generate reports to assess campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies.

Provide support and guidance to volunteers and board members involved in fundraising activities.

Stay updated on fundraising trends, best practices, and legal regulations to ensure compliance and maximise fundraising opportunities.

Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities and potential major donors.


Represent the charitable organisation at community events, networking functions, and donor meetings to expand the organisation's reach and cultivate relationships.

Collaborate with programme managers to align fundraising initiatives with the organisation's mission and goals.

Support donor recognition efforts and ensure timely and accurate acknowledgement of donations.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Proven experience in fundraising, community engagement, or nonprofit development.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling fundraising materials and make persuasive presentations.

Strong organisational and project management skills to plan and execute fundraising campaigns and events.

Proficient in using fundraising software and donor management systems.

Knowledge of fundraising techniques, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and online giving.

Familiarity with the local philanthropic community and funding sources.

Analytical skills to assess fundraising data, track progress, and generate reports.

High level of integrity, ethical standards, and respect for donor confidentiality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Pay:
£700.00-£900.00 per week


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Edinburgh: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
