    Required to start May 2024.

    This position will be a mix of general TA work, mealtime duties, some 1:1 focussed work with pupils with special educational needs and covering a secondment of another member of staff. So flexibility and enthusiasm is essential to join a really strong support team at Stoke Gabriel where you will be most welcome.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and talented individual to join our dedicated team at Stoke Gabriel Primary School. You will provide general class support across the key stages including delivering phonics, tailored interventions and small group work or 1:1 tasks as directed by the teacher. We are looking for an individual with a sensitive and nurturing approach to children's needs, who can be flexible, communicate effectively and think creatively.

You will need to show initiative, creativity and demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful and growing team to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel 'special'.

    Ideally, you will:
    - Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills;
    - Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;
    - Have high expectations of children's behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries;
    - Be willing to work as part of a team;
    - Be energetic, positive and enthusiastic;
    - Be able to use your own initiative when required

  • A good knowledge of phonics is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided. You should have English and Maths qualifications of GCSE A-C or equivalent.
