Assistant General Manager – Biomass Power Station

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant / Deputy General Manager to join a business that provides asset management services across the renewable energy sector in the UK.

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for supporting the commercial and technical performance of a 40MW biomass power station in South Yorkshire on behalf of the plant owner.

Providing leadership in safety throughout the business, supporting the O&M contractor, fuel supplier and other site based contractors to establish industry leading safe systems of work and safety culture
Assisting the Contract Manager in ensuring there is an efficient and effective system for the receiving, weighing and sampling of biomass fuel deliveries utilising the sites fuel team
Monitor and support performance initiatives by the O&M contractor ensuring its compliance with the O&M contract
Maintain relationships with the plants other stakeholders including the Environment Agency, the network operator and the local council etc
Ensuring the on site fuel testing lab works safely and effectively
At least 5 years of large scale power experience across operations and/or maintenance ideally at Engineer / middle management level or similar
Strong relationship management, interpersonal and networking skills
