    Mechanical Design Engineer - Battery Sub-System/Component Design

    Our client is a scaling company dedicated to building high performance EV batteries.

    Seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and development of battery sub-systems or components. The successful candidate will contribute to the creation of cutting-edge battery technologies - high performance, playing a pivotal role in advancing sustainable energy solutions in the automotive sector.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications for battery sub-system or component design.
    • Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings for battery sub-systems or components, adhering to performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
    • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create 3D models and simulations of battery sub-systems or components.
    • Prototype and test battery sub-systems or components to validate functionality, durability, and safety.
    • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimize production processes and ensure quality control of designs.
    • Support product development activities, including design reviews, risk assessments, and design validation testing.
    • Stay current with advancements in battery materials, manufacturing techniques, and design methodologies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the battery or automotive industry.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA analysis tools.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with thermal management, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis of battery systems is desirable.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to battery design and safety.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
