School Crossing Patrols provide a safe crossing facility at a designated site for children and their parents on the school journey, as well as other members of the public who wish to cross.
Duty times cover the period before school opens in the morning and the period after the school closes in the afternoon.
The presence of a School Crossing Patrol encourages parents and children to walk to school, giving environmental and health benefits, in addition to improving safety at the site.
