    We have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor to join Kirklees Homes and Neighbourhoods onatemporary fixed term (minimum 6 month) basis.

    You will primarily be based in the Repairs (including damp and mould) Team . You may, however, also be called on to support the Specialist and Disrepair, Voids, Asset Management or Delivery Teams which – together with the Repairs (including damp and mould) Team -all form part of the larger Assets, Building Safety and Development Team.

    The Repairs (including mould and condensation) Team deal with:

  • Surveying, identification and ordering of remedial works and provision of advice, in cases of damp, mould and condensation in customers' homes.
  • Repairs' surveying
  • The Specialist and Disrepair Team deal with:

  • Damp (both major and minor) and specialist works such as timber infestation and floor replacements
  • Housing Disrepair claims, including surveying, report writing and liaising with legal colleagues
  • The Voids Team deal with:

  • Surveying council properties that have become empty to put together schedules of works to bring those properties up to a lettable standard to enable them to be relet.
  • The Delivery Team deal with:

  • The development and delivery of schemes of work. This could be in the areas of component replacement via planned capital works or planned preventative maintenance.
  • Structural defects
  • The Asset Management Team deal with:

  • The day-to-day maintenance of asset management and related health and safety compliance databases, the input and use of information from these databases.
  • The surveying and development of capital and planned maintenance works programmes.
  • Ad hoc responsive repairs, leasehold sales, boundary issues and tenant improvements.
