    About the role...
    As a Group Senior Financial Accountant you will have exposure to all aspects of finance for a global group in a listed environment. This role is based in our Christchurch Support Office and is ideal for someone looking to develop into a senior finance role.

    The Group Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for KMD Brand's Corporate segment accounting, including management of the Group Financial Accountant, provision of business partnering to the Group Executive and supporting the Corporate rolling forecast and budgeting processes. The role also supports the Group Finance Manager with delivery of the KMD Brands Group's wider accounting, reporting and tax functions including its external statutory reporting requirements.

    Day to day responsibilities include;
  • Managing the day-to-day workload of the Group Financial Accountant.
  • Manage the monthly Corporate accounting function including preparation of the Corporate consolidation and cost centre reporting for the Group Executive.
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly KMD Brands Group consolidation and reporting.
  • Be responsible for updating the Corporate rolling forecast for known variances from budget and forecast.
  • Support the Group FP&A team and provide accounting assistance to the Group FP&A analyst (as needed).
  • Assist with the preparation of the half year and year end Group statutory consolidations, financial statements, and other external financial reporting processes including external audit.
  • Assisting with ad hoc project work and Finance team tasks as required, across both Group and Brand teams.
  • About you ...
    You will have:
  • A degree in Finance or Accounting related disciplines.
  • Professional accounting accreditation – CA, CPA or equivalent.
  • 5+ years accounting experience (with a Big Four audit background and some commercial experience preferable).
  • Good all-round technical accounting knowledge.
  • High level of attention to detail with a high standard of numerical and written accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and willingness to support teams outside of Finance.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly and work to deadlines.
  • Experience requirements ...
  • Minimum of five years' accounting and financial experience, with a Big Four audit background and some commercial experience advantageous.
  • Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) (or equivalent)
  • Experience with multi-currency consolidations.
  • Experience within an Audit and Compliance environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues and work through problems
