Description
General Data Protection Regulation request for records ensuring deadlines are met.

Freedom of Information (FOI) Requests and other requests for information relating to claims and inquests.


Ensure the service's database and files are maintained to a high standard and the flow and filing of legal documents is maintained.

The executive signoff of legal documents and letters of apologies linked to claims.


To facilitate and supervise the service's meetings ensuring the correct allocation of resource and support with guidance from the management team on complicated cases.

Adhere to and assist with the development of the services and the service's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS).

THE LEGAL SERVICES


To provide a dedicated high quality legal service within the Trust to manage, investigate and analyse clinical negligence, employers/public liability claims and Inquests to a high standard.

This will be in accordance with current Trust, Chief Coroner and NHS Resolution policies. We are the main contact point for His Majesty's Coroners' and other Courts.

Based on analysis we make decisions in co-ordination with Trust solicitors, NHS Resolution and staff about the management of claims and whether to settle or defend.

We are also a key element in the Trust's initiative to learn, be candid, reduce risk, and share knowledge. At all times, focusing on the improvement of patients' and relatives' experiences.
