    Communities and Inclusions Lead - LGBTQ+ Andover Mind

    Location: Hybrid; This role will involve working flexibly between our Basingstoke Wellbeing Centre/NMH Safe Haven, from home and within the communities in which we work e.g. Test Valley, Basingstoke and Deane and Hart and Rushmoor

    Working hours: 22.5 hours

    Working pattern: Suggested: 3 days a week 9am - 5pm (1⁄2 hour lunch break) but can be flexible and discussed at interview.

    Andover Mind is a leading mental health charity dedicated to providing support, information, and advice to individuals experiencing mental health issues in the Andover community.     We are seeking a passionate and dedicated communities and inclusion lead, focusing on our LGBTQ+ communities, to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organisation and the wider community. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to promote equality, tackle discrimination, and create an inclusive environment with a specific focus on LGBTQ+ issues

    The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a similar community focused role, with a specific focus on ethnic minorities/LGBTQ+ communities, preferably within the mental health sector or a related field.

    In-depth knowledge of issues related to ethnic diversity, cultural sensitivity, and inclusion, with a strong understanding of the intersectionality of identities and experiences is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clearly and effectively to diverse audiences is also a must for the successful candidate.

    Relevant qualifications in equality, diversity, or related fields or professional certification is desirable but a passion for wellbeing and challenging the stigma of mental illness are equally important.
