Job Objectives & Responsibilities

***:

  • Take control of a team of Fire Risk Assessors
  • Act as a representative of Mitie carrying out work as detailed by the Head of FRA
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner in support of our customers and work colleagues
  • Support with the operational responsibilies to deliver a first class service and meeting the required profit margins upon the contracted and reactive works, from the customers
  • To support in the delivery of the Fire Risk Assessment process in line with guidance from the Technical and Compliance team
  • To ensure all works are delivered on time and to the agreed specification
  • To help and support the QC team
  • To support business growth and retain existing customers
  • To ensure operation resource levels are monitored and maintained
  • To interview new resources
  • To deal through the Mitie HR process and employment issues, reporting to the Head of FRA on such instances
  • Help delegate work to the Fire Risk Assessment team, in conjunction with the planning resource
  • Ensure all subcontractors assigned to carry out risk assessment works are compliant
  • Training Fire Risk Assessment team as required.
  • Checking paperwork and service standards completed by the Fire Risk Assessment team.
  • Carry out allocated service work within agreed time schedules, adhering to the Mitie FRA and Mitie Group Operating policies, procedures and quality policy, and to the relevant industry guidelines and customer specifications
  • Complete reports and paperwork as instructed by the Head of FRA.
  • Take responsibility for your own training needs and bring them to the attention of the Head of FRA.
  • Ensure continual sustainable profitable growth throughout the business
Main Duties

  • Surveying and producing quotations as necessary
  • Attend risk assessment review meetings with Clients as required
  • Ensure that the Fire Risk Assessment team is performing to their required standard as detailed in their job description
  • Support interview/recruitment process for new personnel to the Fire Risk Assessment team as required.
  • Provide training to Fire Risk Assessment team to enhance their capabilities and efficiency
  • Provide work planners to the administration resource. Monitor Fire Risk Assessment team time sheets and ensure that all work is being carried out as planned within agreed timescales
  • Provide technical support to the regional service delivery team
  • Ensure that Fire Risk Assessment team paperwork and reports are completed correctly and returned within agreed timescales
  • Carry out Fire Risk Assessments in a wide range of properties
  • You may be required, from time to time, to carry out operational work to ensure that contractual commitments are met
  • Carry out tool box talks to the Fire Risk Assessment team
Person Specification

  • Suitable and sufficient experience working within the fire risk assessment industry
  • Wide knowledge of The Fire Safety Order (2005), PAS 79 and other associated legislative documents
  • Management skills
  • Induction / appraisal skills
  • Health and safety management
  • Knowledge of quality and operational procedures
  • Commercial awareness
  • Planning skills
  • Customer care/relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage change successfully
  • Computer skills eg: word and excel
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Prepare to travel to various locations across the UK with potential overnight stays as necessary to business needs
  • Able to work as a member of a team and to build and develop teams
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Have a "can do" attitude mentality
  • Physically able to complete required duties
  • Full driving licence with no more than 6 points
  • Able to deal directly with customers and represent the company in a professional manner
