    Are you in an active university course, studying Materials Science/Materials Engineering or Chemistry or related degree subject and looking for a student placement?

    Scientist Placement- one-year fixed term contract

    Here at Saint Gobain Interior Solutions, we're offering a Scientist placement at our site in East Leake, Loughborough. This is based onsite 5 days a week Mon-Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

    This placement sits within our Acoustic and Structures team in the Building Test Centre.

    What will I be doing?

    • laboratory work, getting involved in Acoustic and Structural testing in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
    • deliver a high standard of testing for internal and external customers.
    • testing reports.
    • our experienced colleagues and being guided through tasks.
    • involved with continuous improvement activities, local process improvements and 5S projects.
    • the department on key tasks and projects, working both independently and within teams with constant support, guidance, and mentorship from our specialised colleagues.

    What will I need to be considered?

    • Relevant degree in Materials Science/Engineering or Science discipline (minimum of 2 years of studies completed)
    • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
    • Ideally you will have used Microsoft suite software.
    • Strong team working skills
    • A desire to learn, develop and grow.
    • The confidence and vision to look at, as well as challenge, existing ways of working.
    • The ability to interpret, analyse and understand data.
